Grey water is bathroom, laundry and (sometimes) kitchen wastewater diverted for garden use. In Queensland it's legal — with rules — and can save a Brisbane family 30,000+ litres a year.
Diversion Systems
Simple gravity or pump-fed diverters send laundry/shower water to sub-surface drip irrigation. Cheap, no storage.
Treatment Systems
Filter + disinfection allow surface irrigation and toilet flushing. Council approval + annual service required.
What You Can't Do
No spray irrigation, no storage over 24 hours untreated, no kitchen water unless system is rated for it.
